A Reflection on the year 2011, New Year message for 2012 & call to ministry partnership:

Nehemiah 2:17 “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace” 2012 – Our Year of Restoration & Completion

Dear Friends,

2011 is a memorable year in our life and church. It is year that cannot be forgotten in our history.

The lord told us at the beginning of the year that 2011 with be our year of unprecedented growth

we had no idea what he had in mind. We declared by faith “2011 our year of unprecedented growth”.

Our theme was taken from 2 Pet 3: 18 “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ….”

We followed his leading by faith; for we walk by faith and not by sight. We did not know our future, but we followed the one who knows our future.

I am sure there are people who laughed at us but we remain focused. There were those who felt we are going in the wrong direction but we knew where God was leading us.

There are some who questioned our ministry and stand in Christ Jesus but we remained & ignored the crowd.

We did not let “Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab” hinder us.

Now we can look back and say thank you to our God who has made 2011 our year of unprecedented growth and happenings in our life

and the Anglican Church of the redeemer. We know this is just the beginning of the new things the Lord have in stock for us.

The glory of the later house shall be greater than the former. God has just started with us, he is taking us to higher ground.

I am sure all you have at least one reason to give thanks to God this past year. This is a testimony to his faithfulness.

Aside all the personal things that the Lord did for us, he provided the Chapel/Church for us as a place of worship.

If anyone asked us at the beginning of the year even towards the middle of this year if this was possible we would have doubted.

But October 01, 2011 the Lord blessed us with a unique and well situated place of worship (the former Salvation Army Citadel/Chapel)

I am grateful to God for the level of generosity demonstrated by members of our local Church (Anglican Church of the Redeemer)

and our friends outside the church this year is amazing and not short of a miracle. Even during our panic times.

The Lord raised helped where we never taught help will come from. Outsiders gave to us generously without asking them.

The Lord spoke to people in places to come to our help. This is not short of a miracle that is unprecedented in the history of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer.

The Lord also added to us in number this year. Our youth day, children day, choir festivals, variety nights & other major events pointed to God faithfulness.

We thank all volunteers in this church. without you, we woudl not have survived. We are also thankful for the literature ministry of this church;

we are indebted to all ministers (lay & ordained) who shared the word of God in our church this year – we say, thank you.

We cannot but thank God for the ministry of Rev Canon Olugbenga Akinbola (Mount Zion Anglican Church, Chicago) who ministered powerfully to the church during our 7th year anniversary – July 2011.

We recognized the number seven in the calendar of God and we are thankful for his visitation during this meeting. It is the Lord’s doing and marvelous in our sight.

We were also blessed with the visit of the entourage of the Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev Nicholas Okoh. Thank you for checking on us.

We are also thankful for the ministry at our baby Church – St Jude Evangelical Anglican Church, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The church celebrated its one year of existence this year (November 26, 2011).

We thank God for our assistant Priest Rev Christopher Ogunko-Irene who is also the missioner at this church & has committed himself to looking after this church.

Despite all challenges the church is matching on and the gates of hell cannot prevail. Please continue to pray for this church.

It is amazing to see more and more people getting committed in the church without coercion, thus leaving the pastor/rector and the leadership to focus on other aspects of the ministry.

It is a great thing when you see lives been rededicated back to God, when people just walk into the church without anyone inviting them and people simply search for us on the internet and become part of us.

This is beyond our human understanding. It is nothing short of the grace of God. We are not where we want to be but we are a growing church walking with the Lord.

Our faith continues to look up the lamp of Calvary.

Above all, we also witnessed the creation of a new diocese Missionary Diocese of the Trinity (MDT) this year and the creation of seven zones within the diocese.

We rejoice with the Rt Rev Amos Fagbamiye, our Bishop & the first Diocesan of this diocese & his amiable wife mama Abike Fagbamiye.

Our church has been saddle with the responsibility of providing leadership in one of the zone.

We are grateful to God for this call to service. It is a privilege and not a right and we give thanks to God for his faithfulness.

Off course we had our regrets and mistakes but we have chosen to learn from them and move on in the service of the Lord.

As long as we are in the flesh there will always be errors and omission but we trust in the strength of the Lord that is able to see us through all things.

Our error & Omission insurance is in the Lord Jesus.

2012 is here, this year the Lord is telling us to build,

Nehemiah 2; 17 “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace”
.
This year will no longer be a disgrace
.
Again we are going to follow up him by faith because we know faithful is he who has promised he will not fail.

We are going to join our hands together to build the kingdom. We are believing God for new ministry opportunities & churches.

We are going to build ourselves up on our holy faith. We are going to strive to be giants for him.

We are going to dedicate ourselves to prayer and ministry of the work.
2012 will be our year of Restoration & Completion.

The Lord wants to restore us to our former estate. The Lord w ants to finish some work in our lifes. He wants to restore the year that the locust has eaten.

The Lord will perfect his purpose in our lives and ministry in Jesus name.

Please pray for all the ministry initiatives of this church. We are believing God that our proposed Child Care Center

- Redemption Child Care Center (RCCC) will become licensed daycare facilities soon.

Pray for all that is needed to make this plan reality.

Above all, I invite you to partner with us. You can partner with us as individual, church, group or society.

You can be a faithful prayer partners and off course you can also partner with us in meeting some of our financial needs.

Our ministry is a fertile ground for the end time mission. Let God use you to bless the church.

Contact us today to be part of our God given ministry and you will not regret you did.

And now unto him that is able to keep us from falling I commit you and all your loved ones,

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;

the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace now and for ever. Amen

Wishing you a glorious and happy new year

2011 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE & GREETINGS >
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR FRIENDS

Celebration of the past, present & future

Dear Praying Friends,

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6 NIV)

Let us give thanks to God who has given us opportunity to witness another Christmas. It is a season that is worth celebrating. With all that is happening around us in our homes, cities, states/provinces and our nation at large. This holiday season transcends all our woes, troubles and challenges. Christmas is truly a celebration of the past, present and the future.

The past – because a savior was born several years ago to take away our sin Matt 1: 21 says “he will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” This mission of redemption of mankind from the slavery of sin was accomplished when Jesus came into the world and lived like you and I. “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). One great reason to celebrate Christmas is because the work was finished about 2000 years ago on the cross of Calvary. Let us rejoice because it is done. Victory is won through the birth of the Savior.

I say Christmas is a celebration of the present because the efficacy of his power did not end in the past; it is available in the present. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb 13: 8). What he accomplished when he came 2000 years ago is still valid today. People can still be saved from their sins today. He is still faithful today just as he was 2000 years ago.

It is a celebration of the future because we are anticipating his second coming. It no news that Jesus is coming back again. Not as a baby but a king and judge of the world. He is coming to harvest his own. Celebration Christmas is anticipating, preparing and proclaiming his second coming. The writing of his coming is on the wall. With all the bombing & rumor of wars, collapse of powerful & dictatorial government, rebellions in home and work place, proliferation of churches, kidnapping, killings, economic chaos and increase in personal and national debt, his coming is closer than ever.

Let me therefore encourage you to celebrate this Christmas season as a celebration of the past, present and the future.

As we celebrate this season and exchange gift we must not loose sight of the ultimate gift. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). We must not loose sight of this important gift that must be shared with our friends and neighbors. Above all, I would like to enjoin you

….. Brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. I Thes 5; 1 -9)

Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. From our family and all of us at the Redemption family in Regina, we wish you a very merry Christmas & glorious new year.
